Displaying the PrivacyMark

In the case of JIS Q 15001: 1999

As seen in the illustration, the PrivacyMark is made up of the Mark itself and the accreditation number.

Accreditation Number

  • Nine-digit accreditation number displayed below is assigned by JIPDEC and/or Conforminity Assessment Bodies.
  • The accreditation number contains 9 digits and is displayed as shown below.

    A
    Code of Conforminity Assessment Body accepting application, assessing and certifing the PrivacyMark is represented by one alphabet. The letter begins with "B" and letter "A" signify Accreditation Body (JIPDEC).
    xx
    This two-digit numbers signifies the industry code.
    nnnn
    This four-digit numbers beginning "0001" signify the inherent enterprise code. The number is assigned by Conforminity Assessment Body and/or JIPDEC in the order of accreditation.
    mm
    This contains two-digit numbers beginning "01" signify the number of times of renewals in every two years.

As seen in the illustration, the PrivacyMark is made up of the Mark itself and the accreditation number.

Accreditation Number

  • Ten-digit accreditation number displayed below is assigned by JIPDEC and/or Conforminity Assessment Bodies.
  • AAnnnnnn(mm)
    AA
    This two-digit numbers signify the code of JIPDEC ("10") and/or Conforminity Assessment Bodies (beginning "11") accepting application, assessing and certifing the PrivacyMark.
    nnnnnn
    This six-digit numbers signify the inherent enterprise code. The code is assigned by JIPDEC and/or Conforminity Assessment Bodies in the order of accreditation, and unchanging after renewals.
    mm
    This two-digit numbers beginning "01" signify the number of times of renewals in every two years.

Where the PrivacyMark Can Be Displayed

  1. The PrivacyMark can be displayed according to the scope of accreditation.
  2. The PrivacyMark may be used for the followings:
    • Storefronts
    • Contracts
    • Manuals
    • AD and PR Materials
    • Envelopes
    • Letter Papers
    • Business Cards
    • Web Sites, etc.

Details on Scope of Accreditation for Use of PrivacyMark

  • PrivacyMark must be displayed within the scope of accreditation and in a manner such that consumers can identify it.
  • Possible exceeding of the scope of accreditation in such cases as AD materials, business cards, etc, should require attention.

It is prohibited to use the PrivacyMark without permission. If the Mark is used without permission, legal measures will be taken.
