PrivacyMark Promotion Center of JIPDEC has been operating PrivacyMark System since April 1998 (before enactment of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in 2003) for the purpose of promotion of personal information protection by private enterprises. JIPDEC assesses those private enterprises and issue the grant of use of PrivacyMark as a mark to indicate their personal information management systems meet Japan Industrial Standards (JIS Q 15001: Personal Information Protection Management System - - - Requirements) . PrivacyMark entities may use the Mark in their business activities.
