About the PrivacyMark Promotion Center
Overview
PrivacyMark Promotion Center of Japan Information Processing Development Corporation (JIPDEC) operates PrivacyMark System from April 1998 (before enactment of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in 2003) for the purpose of promotion of personal information protection by private enterprises. JIPDEC accredits those private enterprises and issue Accreditatio Certificate of PrivacyMark that established adequate personal information management system conformed to Japan Industrial Standards (JIS Q 15001:2006 Personal Information Protection Management System - - - Requirements) . Private enterprises accredited PrivacyMark could use it in their business activities.
The PrivacyMark Promotion Center has two units: the PrivacyMark Office in charge of promotion and establishment of PrivacyMark System, Accreditation Committee, propagation and enlightenment, Authorized Personal Information Protection Organizations and consultation service for consumers and Assessment Office in charge of Screening and Assessment.
