About the PrivacyMark Promotion Center
Overview
PrivacyMark Promotion Center of JIPDEC has been operating PrivacyMark System since April 1998 (before enactment of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in 2003) for the purpose of promotion of personal information protection by private enterprises. JIPDEC assesses those private enterprises and issue the grant of use of PrivacyMark as a mark to indicate their personal information management systems are conformed to Japan Industrial Standards (JIS Q 15001:2006 Personal Information Protection Management System - - - Requirements) . PrivacyMark entities may use the Mark in their business activities.
The PrivacyMark Promotion Center has two units: One is the PrivacyMark Office that is in charge of promotion and establishment of PrivacyMark System, PrivacyMark Sysytem Committee, Authorized Personal Information Protection Organizations and Consultation service for consumers. The other is the Assessment Office that is in charge of screening and assessment.
